Erin & Kwame { Engagement Photos Harlem NYC }
Erin and Kwame knew exactly what they wanted when they booked me as their NYC wedding photographer: Cool engagement photos in Harlem right where they live. Sure enough they found their partner in crime in me. I love it when couples want to shoot at places that mean something to them. It gives the engagement photos more substance and myself the chance to get them know a lot better before the wedding day.
When I arrived at their street in Harlem NYC I was absolutely blown away by what I saw. A street entirely lined with green trees and on both sides brownstone buildings in the most amazing muted colours.
Erin and Kwame looked fantastic in their outfits: A mix of classic and vintage. Erin is a fashion entrepreneur and so I did not expect anything else. We started with our engagement photos right by the entrance of their building. And I mean how perfectly does the color of the building matches Kwame’s pants and vest?! Wow!
They also brought their little dog, who looked just incredibly sweet in all of the photos. His fur was as snow white as Erin’s wonderful dress. Dream team! Erin & Kwame walked up and down the street, hand-in-hand, kissed and hugged and we had the best time.
Posing like a Pro
Afterwards we went to a nearby park to add some more cool engagement photos with a different background. The long stairs with the old lantern were the perfect spot. Erin brought a couple more accessories and changed into a wonderful bride turban. So pretty!
The other part of the accessories were two pairs of sunglasses with bride and groom written on them. They posed like pros and we definitely had a good laugh. It was a wrap!
Erin and Kwame, I thank you so much for the wonderful hours we spent in Harlem and that you guys got to show me your neighborhood. Your wedding afterwards was also simply fantastic! What a pleasure to get to know you and spend all these moments with you and your families & friends.
